Beautiful Julia

Julia had started Farnborough Hill one year before me but our families had known each other since we were small- our mums were in a babysitting circle. As some of the few families living on the Cove side of Farnborough we had a shared school run for most of my time at the school. Julia was everything at school as you knew her to be as an adult, although her silky elegant glamour definitely came post-green school uniform. She was very bright; kind, contemplative and thoughtful. We were not best mates, I was a year younger, but we definitely got on well. After school we lost touch for a while but one day I was walking down Baker St, it was hot and towards the end of the last term of my last year at university and I saw a beautiful blonde smoking outside a door and recognised Julia. That conversation led her to offer me a two week internship at the magazine she was working at, BusinessAge and it started my career. We had so much fun - we worked hard and pulled all nighters; we travelled to New York together and stayed in random swanky clubs; we partied; we had pizza and wine (mostly white) doing page layouts in her Primrose Hill flat; we were a mini family and it was an unusual and remarkable experience. That very 'Julia' generosity gave me my career, one of my best friends @jomaxwell and some amazing life memories. We occasionally bumped into each other in the media industry after that and I'm very sorry we didn't do more to stay in touch. I'm even more sorry that Tina and Sarah and all that knew her have been robbed of such a beautiful young woman, gone far too soon. Thinking about all of her family at this time. All our love Amanda, Jo and Kate Cowler xxxx
